|At the Delaware Burn Camp recently, volunteers lent their services to help young burn victims recover from their harrowing ordeals.
Established seven years ago, the annual week-long event is held at Camp Barnes -- a facility owned by the Delaware State Police on Millers Creek near Assawoman Bay. The burn camp provides a safe environment with a variety of activities including: boating, fishing, swimming, archery, hiking, and arts & crafts.
Participation is free for eligible applicants. Largely operated with donated food and services, the initiative receives no state money.
As he has done in years past, Rep. Wilson brought some of the Haflinger horses he raises to the camp to give rides to the campers.
